必ず複数形を用いるもの
表現によっては、必ず複数形を用いるものがあります。
代表的なものに、
make friends with ~
（ ~ と友達になる）
shake hands with ~
（ ~ と握手する）
などがあります。

friends や hands を含め、例文を用いて確認したいと思います。
① I’d like to make friends with you.
（私は、あなたと、友達になりたい）
② The custom of shaking hands is unknown in this country.
（この国では、握手する習慣がない）
※ custom は「(社会的な)習慣、慣習」を意味します。これに対し、habit は「(個人的な)習慣、くせ」を意味します。
③ I am on good terms with Jack.
（私は、ジャックと仲が良い）
※ term は「期間、学期、語」などを意味しますが、「間柄」の意では必ず複数形で用い、be on good terms with ~ は「 ~ と仲が良い」を意味します。
④ We have to change trains at the next station.
（私達は、次の駅で、列車を乗り換えなければならない）
⑤ They exchanged seats with each other.
（彼らは、お互いに、座席を交換した）
