【 in / on the morning 】特定の日を示す語句を伴う場合は？

in / on

ただ「午前中」のときは in ですが、特定の日を示す語句を伴うときは on を用います。

例文

① He arrived early in the morning.

（朝早く着いた）

② He arrived on the morning May 8.

（5月8日の朝着いた）

なお、下記のような場合も on になります。
